Finally an effective Kid's Self Defense Program that teaches your child real Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu self defense skills, yet reinforces the "No Hitting" rule that they've learned at home and school! If a child cannot avoid a confrontation and they need to defend themselves, they do not need to harm another with violent strikes in order to defend themselves. Instead, we teach proven leverage based escape and control techniques that a child, of any size, can learn to effectively make themselves safe. We teach Kid's Self Defense, not Violence. All of our kids learn anti-bully strategies (verbal and non-verbal). Come see the difference! 

This program is specifically designed for children ages 4-14. All of our kids classes are taught in fun and SAFE environment by professional and experienced instructors. Our classes are designed to impart valuable life skills to our students on and off the mats; including effective self-defense, confidence, goal-setting and teamwork. 

 

 

Class Details

Level 1 (Gi) - This is where kids will start their Jiu Jitsu journey. Classes focus on the extremely important fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu, self-defense, character development and our Anti-Bully Program. Ages 4+ and all belt levels may attend this class.

 

Level 2 (Gi & No Gi) - This is the next step in a child's Jiu-jitsu progression. Attendance in this class does require instructor approval and is geared towards ages 8+. Students should have a basic understanding of class structure prior to entering Level 2. Exceptions may be made by coaching staff. This class continues to build on Level 1 skills and integrates more advanced techniques, rolling and strategies

 
 

About the Program

At Crossover Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) Academy we take pride in creating a safe and enjoyable learning environment for all of our students. Our adult programs are designed to fit the needs of women and men regardless of their athletic ability. Whether you are brand new to BJJ or have previous training our experienced instuctors can help you accomplish your goals. 

We realize that people look to join a Martial Arts Academy for a variety of different reasons. Some students are looking to improve fitness levels, learn realistic self defense, increase confidence, or maybe even compete in a new sport. We will never pressure you to compete or chase a goal that you're not interested in. 


Class Details

Adult Beginner Fundamentals  -  This class focuses on the learning and application of the basic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu techniques. Students will learn the fundamental skills and strategies of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, including a variety of submissions and escapes. This class will focus on proper techniques from the standing position covering basic throws and Jiu-Jitsu take-downs, including ground work.

This class is effective for the beginner as well as the advanced student looking to perfect his/her basic Jiu-Jitsu techniques. This class does not include sparring (rolling) however students are always welcome to stay after to roll. 

Adult Gi All Levels -  In this class a gi (kimono) is worn to simulate clothing for a more realistic self defense experience and to help teach the student the use of grips, leverage, and technique to control and submit a larger more powerful opponent. This is the more traditional way to train BJJ, as well as a requirment to earn rank. Technique is always followed by sparring (rolling). This class focuses on Beginner and Intermediate Level techniques and strategies. All ranks may attend.  

Adult No Gi All Levels - This class focuses on applying the fundamentals of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu without the traditional uniform. Most students simply wear shorts and a T-shirt/Rash Guard. Much of the ground game aspect of what you see in mixed martial arts (MMA) is learned in No-Gi training and can be applied to self defense situations. Students who have previous wrestling experience tend to find No Gi Jiu-Jitsu to be a great extension to their wrestling background.

Adult Advanced Gi and NoGi - ALL ranks are allowed to attend these clssses. The Advanced classes are designed for the student who would like to progress their Jiu-Jitsu to another level. The focus of these classes are learning how to combine basic and complex techniques into a comprehensive strategy. The Advanced Classes are guaranteed to advance your grappling to the next level.

Open Mats - Our open mat training is designed to allow students to work on specific trouble areas and practice newly learned techniques in a informal format. The class is open to all members of any rank. This class allows members the opportunity to spar, drill, or analyze techniques and improve their Jiu-Jitsu Game. An instructor is always present to help answer questions. 

About the Program

All of our Yoga classes are instructed by certified Yoga Instructor Inga Bentley. Inga is a certified RYT 200 hour teacher, certified karma kids yoga teacher, and experienced family yoga instructor. Adult classes are designed to increase flexibility, build strength and clear mind. Inga focuses on building prana (life force or breath) within the body to build heat while increasing mental clarity.Absolutely no experience necessary to benefit from this class. All Adult BJJ Memberships include Unlimited Yoga Classes. Yoga Only Memberships are also available.

About the Program

Our Cardio Conditioning program is designed to burn calories and build functional fitness in only 30 minutes! Utilizing high intensity cardio intervals, plyometrics, and body weight exercises this class will push you to your limits—and then some. It is meant to improve your overall fitness and burn a heightened amount of calories. Absolutely no experience necessary! Whether you are just starting on your fitness goals or you're an experience athlete, you will feel welcomed in this class. 

All Adult BJJ Memberships include Unlimited Cardio Conditioning classes. Cardio Conditioning Only Memberships are also available!

About Private Lessons

While Group classes are an established way to teach our programs, largely because of the diversity of training partners, private classes are a perfect complement. The benefits of private lessons include scheduling flexibility, personal attention, and linear presentation of techniques. Private Lessons are available for all of our programs from our specially trained instructors. Contact any of our instructors for individual rates and schedules.
